Time for me to play with the news. So! As I really have nothing of huge impact to say.. Welcome to the site and enjoy what you see! Stop by the forums and say hello. It's always nice to meet new folks! Check out the Artwork and Stories contributed by some other fans of the comic. You'll be amazed at the sheer amount of talent that abounds. :)

On Halloween, Ticka from the Lanys / Seventh Hammer server, Raid Leader for Memento Reejeryn and all around great person died in a car accident. While I didn't know Ticka personally, which is my loss, many of my friends in game did and sorely miss him and mourn his passing. The relationships that are forged in these virtual environments and the friends made are as real as any other and when one of those friends passes on we mourn their passing in a very real way. I'd simply like to offer my condolences on behalf of WTF Comics to his family and many friends.

With this update I'd like to start a new feature of the site and see how it pans out. When I play EQ I often send in ideas/suggestions/gripes via the /feedback command, I like to think I've sent in some decent ideas but it sometimes feels like a bit of an exercise in futility. But since I have the site here I'm in the unique position of being able to post my feedback on the game I enjoy so much on a grander scale and see what others think as well. Maybe things posted here would be more likely to be read and maybe people who read what I post have even better ideas that may also be read as well. Of course I could just be wasting my time on a grander scale than normal, but I like EQ and games in general, I tend to come up with ideas for the ones I really like regardless so I may as well do something with them and see what others think. The first test article in the series is about the old Temple of Sol Ro armor quests, Penywise has recently started playing EQ again and while requiping him I got on the subject of these armors which were uber when he left and the first thing he wanted to work on. Working on the quests reminded me of how much has changed since they went in and got me thinking about them in general, if interested or you have ideas on the subject check out the article on the forums posted HERE

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone early, hopefully you'll all be careful and have a great day, oh, and if you got a Wii or PS3 and are spending your Thanksgiving enjoying it.. I hate you... =). Anyway, the new wallpaper is now going out and will be a group picture that's the first half of a poster I've been working on of nearly all characters that have appeared in the strip in a significant role of some kind. The wallpaper is the bottom half of the poster and has about 25 good aligned characters, the top half will be evil characters and come out later as another wallpaper and eventually both will be a complete poster for sale in the shop. I'm considering using the image in the 2007 calendar as well which will be coming out soon, this year I'm thinking of making a overall calendar with a variety images from throughout the series, though if theres interest and time I'll try to make a swimsuit/lingerie calendar as well or perhaps make reprints of previous calendars in case people missed them.

Today's update brings a couple of long awaited things, besides the strips of course, I apologize for their delay but two more are on the way shortly and that should catch things up again. First of all the new donator wallpaper begins today and is Penywise's redesign, Peny is the last of the main characters to be redesigned (although technically Straha has only had a couple color changes which doesn't quite constitute a redesign..) and while his updated look won't appear in the strip for awhile yet donators get to see it early as a sneak peek. Also included with the new wallpaper is the next two Smoke Comics, numbers 17 & 18.

Speaking of the Smoke Comics, the side site for them is finally done and up, you'll find the link button to the left at the bottom. It's fairly bare bones but it's better than direct linking from here and has its own archive for navigation just like the regular site.

Just a short update right now to start the new wallpaper which will be a Malrissi paper and the new two pages of the Smoke comics #15 and #16 for donators this month. Also just to be clear regular monthly donations receive that months Wallpaper and 2 Comics or you can request a specific wallpaper and/or 2 comics via email. All the Smoke comics will come out over time in their own section free to view, donators simply receive the newest strips well ahead of everyone else. Thanks to everyone for their input on the first two that have been released to everyone, glad so many like the new series even without being EQ related. I should get the seperate section for the original strips up soon and I'll update here when I do to let everyone know. I'm quite pleased with the response so far, just keep in mind that the new strip is basically unrelated to the regular EQ strip, there is a little continuity but it's best to just consider each strip mutually exclusive to save everyone a headache with all the cross comic speculation.

Couple of small things for this update, first the Nikisha Calendar Artwork auction has started today and can be found HERE. Like all the others it will last one week so good luck to everyone who decides to bid.

Also, as promised the first two of the original Smoke comics are available to everyone and can be viewed here for now Strip 1 and Strip 2, eventually I'll set up a side site for them exclusively with it's own navigation and everything but for now since non donators only get the two a direct link will work.

The new wallpaper starts today and will be a double image of both Feless and Kaitis to mark their inclusion in the strip, also the pages 13 and 14 of Smoke's comic will be included with the new wallpaper as usual. With the original Smoke comic so far along now I will be releasing the first strips in the series in their own archive as well soon, about one every two weeks or so. Those who donate for the wallpaper and strips will still be significantly ahead and see new strips in the series months ahead of anyone else as well as receiving the wallpaper and other bonuses, but now there will be another option for those who only wish to see the new strips and are patient. The secondary archives of the new strips should go up with the next update and will have a link off the main page here, when these strips are available I would like feedback in the forums of course but I'd also appreciate it if everyone only discussed the strips available to all and not the donator only strips that have yet to be released. Everyone who has been receiving the donator strips all this time have been great about this so I don't think it will be an issue but with some of them becoming available to all I thought I'd try to head off any confusion. Since the Smoke comics represent an entirely original work I do like feedback on them quite a bit so I can see how well they're coming along.

Finally, the last artwork auction went exceedingly well so there will be another auction shortly, it should start with the next update as well and the next auction should be for the 2006 Nikisha image. 2 Annashi auctions is enough for the good guys for right now so all those who have been waiting to bid on something a little more ebil will have their chance soon. Thanks to everyone who bid on the previous auctions and congratulations to the winners of course, thanks to you guys along with all the regular donators the bills are still getting paid =).

Couple of things for the update today, first is the new wallpaper and the next two strips from the original Smoke comic begin today, a new version of Straha is the wallpaper for this month in his current armor colors and a more detailed background of Kunark in honor of the current storyline. Also the store has been receiving some updates since black T shirts have become available, all the new designs featured in the storefront section are available on traditional white/grey/colored shirts in the apparel section if you don't care for black.

Finally, since the sales of the 2006 Calendar have gone so well so far to celebrate and since the first was successful a new piece of original artwork featured in the calendar is being auctioned off. The 2006 Annashi Calendar Artwork can be found at the preceding link and the auction will last one week, a lot of people bid on the 2004 version but only one could win so here's another chance to own a piece of WTF for everyone who lost out. I'll probably continue doing auctions for original artwork periodically since the first went over so well, but each piece is the only copy and will only be sold once. The artwork is signed and I make a nice color printout of the finished version and sign it as well so you get the original black and white linework and the color version to show how it looks when finished.

Just a short note of an update today, the new forums have been decided on and set up, they can be located HERE. The link here on the main page has been updated with the new address as well and the old forums will have an announcement listing the new address as well as being locked soon. I'd bookmark it seperately from the site just in case the site is ever down as it's the best place to go for information and as I posted in the old forums after someone actually did so, calling me at home for information about the site is a very, very bad idea. If the site is down for whatever reason check the forums, send an email or better yet just exercise some patience, calling me at home to whine because you're inconvenienced for a short while is extraordinarily annoying and self centered. However I do apologize for the short amount of downtime during the server move and the DNS problems, both were simply my fault and have been taken care of and won't be an issue again. Everyone should thank Aidden from the Safehouse for his help with the server move and forums and generous hosting of both, the Safehouse has nice hosting options for anyone looking for an excellent host for their guild site, home page, etc, just hit the button at the bottom left of the page to check them out.
